Scope of Application

This data privacy statement is intended to clarify the type, scope, and purpose of personal data collected and utilized by the responsible service provider

for users of this website.

The German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Telemedia Act (TMG) form the legal foundation of this data privacy statement.

Access Data / Server Log Files

The Service Provider (or its web hosting provider) collects data regarding every access of the Service (also known as server log files). This access data includes:

Name of website retrieved, file, date and time of retrieval, quantity of data transferred, message regarding successful retrieval, browser type and version, the user’s operating system, referrer URL (the page previously visited), IP address, and requesting provider.

The Service Provider uses these log files only for statistical evaluations, for the purposes of operating, securing, and optimizing its Service. The Service Provider does, however, reserve the right to review the log files subsequently if concrete indications lead to a legitimate suspicion of illegal use.

Use of Personal Data

Personal data is information that can be used to identify a certain person, or data that can be traced back to a person. This includes a person’s name, e-mail address, or telephone number. But data regarding preferences, hobbies, memberships, or the websites a person has viewed also counts as personal data.

The Service Provider only collects, uses, and transmits personal data if legally allowed or if the user agrees to the data collection.

Establishing Contact

Upon establishing contact with the Service Provider (such as through the contact form or e-mail), the user’s information is saved for the purpose of processing the inquiry, as well as in case follow-up questions occur.

Integrating Third-Party Services and Content

It is possible that third-party content, such as videos from YouTube, maps from Google Maps, or RSS feeds or graphics from other websites may be integrated into our online Service. This always requires the provider of this content (hereinafter referred to as a “Third-Party Provider”) to receive the user’s IP address. Without the IP address, it would not be possible for this Third-Party Provider to send the content to the browser of the user in question. Therefore, the IP address is required to display this content. We attempt to only use content whose Providers only use the IP address to deliver said content. However, we have no influence over whether, for instance, the Third Party Provider saves the IP address for statistical or other purposes. Insofar as we are aware of this, we will inform users.

Statistics and Cookies

This website has implemented a statistics feature using cookies and storing information at an aggregate level. Cookies are small files that make it possible to save specific information on a user’s access device (PC, smartphone, or similar) related to that device, for example, from which the visitor accesses the site or the number of visits. They serve to record statistical data on website use and to facilitate analysing it for the purpose of improving the Service, making our website more user-friendly (e.g. by saving the number of each displayed pages). Licht & Leben (Light & Life) is a short, reader-friendly newsletter from our company. With international issues he talks about the importance of light regarding social, cultural or religious terms. It is published in german language and in irregular intervals.

If you want to receive the newsletter, we require a valid e-mail address and information that allow us to verify that you are the owner of the email address or that its owner agrees to receive the newsletter. Further data is not collected. These data are used only for sending the newsletter and will not be disclosed to third parties.

By registering for the newsletter, we store your IP address and date of registration. This storage is used alone the evidence in the case that a third party abused an email address and logs in without the knowledge of the person entitled to the newsletter receive.

Your consent to the storage of data, e-mail address and to use for sending the newsletter can be revoked at any time. The revocation can be made via a link in the newsletters themselves, in your profile area or send a message to the above contact details.

Revocation, Amendments, Corrections, and Updates

The user has the right to receive information regarding the personal data saved about them upon request and free of charge. Additionally, the user has the right to correct false data, to block, or to delete their personal data, insofar as there is no legal obligation to retain it.
